Meet Abby

Abigail Cedano is an experienced C-level leader and elementary expert. She joined Strategists for Good to partner with leaders in the nonprofit and education sectors in realizing their missions.

Abigail began her career in education attending Bank Street College in NYC where she received a dual Masters in Early Childhood and Elementary education. She then taught in NYC public schools and was a founding teacher at one of the first Success Academy elementary schools in Harlem. She stayed with Success Academies for 9 years and in 2011 founded Success Academy Williamsburg, an elementary school in Brooklyn, NY. In their first year of state Common Core testing, Success Academy Williamsburg scored in the top 1% of the state for both English and Mathematics and 100% of her students achieved the highest score of a level 4 on the state Science test. In her final year at Success Academies, Abigail continued as a Managing Principal supporting new principals in developing a strong school culture.

She served as the Head of Schools for Summit Public Schools’ WA region, where she managed three schools. During her 3 years, Summit Olympus and Summer Sierra graduated the first charter school graduates in the state of WA and 98% of the graduates were accepted into 4 year colleges and universities.

Most recently, she co-founded and served as the CAO of Impact Public Schools, a network of public charter schools serving over 1,200 students. Among the schools’ accomplishments: academic performance in the top 2% of the state for English Learners, reading growth in the top 5% of charter schools nationally, and a national award for their response to COVID-19.
